Bolands Lock House
Lock house was disused and in poor repair, refurbishment work carried out included:
Replacing of damaged limestone curved cills and decorative heads, replacement of all ‘up and down’ sash windows. New opes were created to match existing.
Heating system installed was under floor system which was incorporated in new joists at upper levels with infill concrete to proved mass for heat retention.
New stairs were installed and all internal decoration was carried out in sympathy with the original finishes.
New extension was placed to rear and opes were made in old building to provide access to new rooms. New building matched in with existing architecture.
Complete new roof was fitted to new and old sections
All old chimneys were returned to working order.
Battlement to front were reformed.
